Petrol question - Sept '21

Hi there - I've got 10/11 litres of Super Unleaded petrol in my 12L fuel tank - bought at the beginning of Sept 2021. It's been used a couple of times during Sept to turn the engine over during some servicing but hasn't been used since. It's been stored a little time in a garden shed and then in the garage over the Winter. I've had the vent open very very slightly - hopefully not enough to allow any moisture to get in.
I was going to put some stabilser (Quickstor) in it and run it through the engine for 10mins... do you think I should with older fuel? Or maybe should dispose of it and get some fresh petrol/stabilise and run that through?

I guess my question is how much can fuel go bad in four months? I'm thinking the engine could do with the stabiliser in it for the next couple of months.

And my other question would be - how do folks dispose of unwanted petrol (other than putting it in a car)?!

Thanks

This old chestnut again. I have a RIB in Portugal where there is 250 litres of low grade petrol sitting in it. This is a typical situation so the fuel can be anything up to a year old and I NEVER have had a problem and that’s in a cheap Yamaha V8.

Thanks for the advice. I'll put a wee bit of Stabiliser in there for good measure.

Good to know that the Super petrol will last that long - thanks

Old petrol

If I have old fuel to use up I usually just use it in a lawnmower. That way its really easy to remove it from the carb / tank if its gone off.

And if your lawnmower breaks down in the middle of the lawn, you can radio lawn rescue to go out and tow you back,
