petrol tank under seat ?

I have a rib with the petrol tank in the stern of the boat and I was thinking of putting the tank under the seat. Is there any proceedure I should follow, like cutting a vent in the console ect. I also want to fit a fuel filter, what one is best?

A vent would be good but you'll need it so you don't get water inside the console. If its a fixed tank you could just fit a breather out of harm and waters way.
The tank should be in a seperate compartment to the battery.
