you would be amazed how much abuse a prop can take before it is unusable...
that said when i worked for Acorn adventure they used the props with the plastic replaceable blades... (great idea, useless in practice)
Chasing 6 dinghies down the lake in a Comando with only one prop blade left was horrific 2kts flat out and vibrating to hell

Yes, it's terrible when you're in so much of a hurry, you don't have time to put your pants on.

I would recommend that you buy a new one and then send the old one away for refurbishing - that way you've got a "good" spare not a "damaged" spare!
