prop for 115 yamaha

hi

i have an avon adventure 5.60m with an f115hp 4 stroke at current we are using a aluminium 13" diameter 19 pitch prop, but it revs far to high. I Have got it to 5800rpm but not taken it past that yet there seems to be a lot of throttle left. At present it does around 37/38 knots, with a few people in it. This seems slow.

What prop and pitch would u recoomend for my engine

Cheers

Avon Prop Problem

Hi Mat
If you swap your ali prop for a stainless 19" it will instantly drop the rev range down. A 21" prop is a trial and error practice but if you can borrow one then try it. Yamaha stainless props have come down in price dramatically and do tend to last much longer depending whether or not you dink it.
BHG Marine at Beaulieu offer good advice and "good prices"

ok thanks for your help

As well as dropping the revs down, will we notice much of an increase in top speed when upgrading to a 19 pitch S/S rather than our current 19 pitch Ali ?

Cheers
