prop help

Mike, Chewy ,

just wanted to know correct prop for my engine, as cant read no's on this one, just thought revs were reading v/high @8 k , should be @5.600 max , also when going slow reads high , engine does not sound as if sreaming, but i think tacho may read incorrect as put my tiny tach on and is totaly diff to fitted tacho ,thought preveivous owner may have put on prop for towing toys ? boat is valiant v450+ 60 2 stroke 3 cycl.

If it sounds like you are over revving and you are still not going anywhere then you need a higher pitch prop. Take off the one that you have and go show it to someone in the know.

prop

8000 rpm wow!

sounds the like rev counters wrong.

what does the tiny tach say on tickover compared to tacho?

on the back of the tacho there should be pole setting adjustment, this could be the prob.

prop help

Tiny tach reads about 500 rpm lower than fitted tach at idle, have had tach out cleaned all connections on back, not been out with it fitted yet, but i did see a calibration screw on back so will experiment next time out.
