For scottish netters (to avoid transport costs down south).

Just a note to mention this bloke,I had a fairly badly damaged SS prop,He took 2 days, charged me £40 and the prop came back like new.

IBWET thanks for that. I have a slightly battered Ali prop sitting here - but not got round to sending it off as the cost of shipping there and back plus repair makes it almost as expensive as a new prop.

Now moved to:
Rothesay Dock,
Dock Street,
Clydebank

or some such place - I'm off to see them in the a.m.

I may post before and after pics.

And if they're any good, fulsome praises.

(it's only a wee* ding, but cavitation sets in at 4.4k and it really annoys me.)

*'wee' is a variable, as in- "Compared to the Matterhorn, Ben Nevis is only a wee hill."

Before & after...

Spot the difference?

Price? Don't know yet (The Man was elsewhere, but The Lad reckoned "about 30 quid". That'll do me )

They (CMP) are in the yard at the east end of Rothesay Dock; and if anyone is looking for a project there's a lot of stuff lying around that's in desperate need of some TLC...

I'll be going back soon - not because I want to, but because someone close to me forgot to tilt up at low water. Only a few nicks & scratches but even so

Anyway, thanks to IBWET for the pointer. Nice one bud - see you in LYH soonish?

Well I'm in there up to my ar......m in antifoul at the mo. I'm the soaked guy scooting his kids with the hose in retaliation when he should be working.

I've a 25" Suzuki prop now as a spare,so if you or kim want to try it just to see if you can spin it your welcome....

I dropped Mrs. G's prop in with Sam on Tuesday a.m.
Picked it up this morning (had to wait a minute or two while Sam polished the prop - nice to have the chance for a chat). It's just as good as the other one - so no gripes about the bill which came to 60 quids for the two, well happy (but half of that's coming out of the housekeeping). Perhaps I should mention that CMP don't just do wee boats - next time you pass a wall of steel with a billion deadweight tons behind it, they fix the screws for those too!

For those of you looking to store/launch/work on your P&Js in the Upper Clyde area, it may be worth your while to have a chat with Sam or the other guys in the Rothesay Dock; perhaps wander over to www.propellor-repair.co.uk or www.clydeboatyard.co.uk or even www.marineblast.com. I have no connection with any of them other than as a satisfied customer of CMP - but if they all have the same set of trading ethics then I don't think you'll be disappointed...

Any dead Clamshells? I'm looking for a leg (or "driveshaft housing, to give it it's sunday name) for a wee upgrade while I have the engine in bits.....

I was thinking more in terms of boats than engines, but I dare say if you give them a call they might know someone - gotta be worth a try.
