Propeller: Difference?

My Original Propeller that came with my Honda BF20 was SIZE 9 1/4 x 10 INCHES (235 x 254 mm), i purchased a spare one BUT forgot to mention the size to the supplier, they sent me SIZE 6 1/2 x 10 INCHES (165 x 254 mm).

What will be the difference in performance? Should i return it and ask for the right size or just keep it if its better size.

Again, thank you[emoji8][emoji8][emoji8]

Which is the pitch and which the diameter?

In either case it's totally unsuitable and needs swapping.

OK I think it is likely the original one was a 9.25" dia and 10" pitch which is pretty standard for a 20hp and suits most situations.

Then it seems your new one is a 10" dia with a 6.5" pitch. You should be able to tell if the prop looks broadly the same dia as the old one to confirm this.

Assuming so 6.5" is a tiny pitch for a 20hp and like trying to drive on main roads in second gear. It would only suit a river boat or coastal launch that would never plane but needed 'lower gearing' to move a fair bit of weight.

No problem. I'm early retired and added to that undertake an activity in my spare time that needs frequent PC access through the day so if I know an answer I'm in there... if I don't I keep out and don't make it up!
