Putting oil into a honda 2.3

I'm a newbie! - Having just taken delivery of a new Honda 2.3, I couldn't believe it was so difficult to fill with oil due to the angle of the oil filler! - for any other newbie I solved the problem by decanting the fresh oil into a cleaned fairy liquid bottle - now I just have to squirt it in! - Hope that helps someone else - Andrew

??? It should have oil in when you got it as they should be run up , serial number taken and the booked stamped for the warranty. Normally you are shown this when it is done along with what to look out for, etc.

If your book was not stamped I would call in and get it done. No big deal really but you do want it stamped and them to send the form off to Honda at the very least.

dave, I'd guess it was an online purchase which had the oil drained for shipping?

alamos, also incredibly sensitive to getting the oil level right as overfilling will smoke like a 2 stroke. that means having the engine perfectly level when you fill it.

Dave you're quite right - it was drained prior to shipping.

Thanks Polwart - luckily it was - I'd put it on a stand.
