Over to you Danielo

Oooo what you got ???

"Banana man" was a shortened 6.5, at only 6.

If memory serves me right (tis 10 years ago now can you believe it) we flittered between a 19 and 21 laser II. I always felt the happymax 150 had a little more to give but could never get it up to max rpm even dropping a pitch.

I tried a 21", it gave no more top end and stopped her from revving out.

I think we found the opposite, but of course 50cm means smaller lighter boat.

With a 19" we couldn't rev any higher WOT and seamed to be using a bit more fuel at 25knts to went back to 21".

What's max rpm, 5750? I've a feeling we were hitting 44/45knts lightly loaded but something like 5400. Like I said in my first post, it's was 2002 we rigged that boat and 2004 we sold it !!

A guy on the platform has just bought on on ebay and he was asking me what prop and I told him that I thought the 19 inch last 2 would be right but that's only because of my Scorpion rig. So I'm asking on here from Osprey owners. UNFORTUNATELY he was choppered off yesterday on a compassionate so I'll probably talk props with him some other time

Rogue Wave, if you don't mind me asking but is the boat you are referring to formerly known as the Silverfox?

Which was previously known as mine.

I've heard that the last owner (not Mr. Spittle) has made a right mess of her.

Mollers, I know someone who has a 7m vipermax with an ermintrude 200hp HO and he claims that his boat will do a max speed of 50-52knots but based on your figures of a 6.5m vipermax powered by 150hp seems to suggest he is telling porkies!

A 7.0 meter with a 250 HO will achieve 52 knots, with a 200 HO 46-48 knots tops...

Ah! Just read 7m. I'd misread that it was a 6.5m as it was a 200HO. Chris is probably not far off there. That's an odd combo, a 250 straight Etec would be better than a 200HO on a 7m. The 200HO would be awesome on a 6.5 however.

Jim's 6.5 with a 200 Opti fitted out by Bedajim Engineering (heavy), would hit 47/48. Ask Gotchidad.

I could only just get past him with my 7m/250. (Best 49.1, 48 most days with a light load)

Hugh Jardon's 6.5/200Opti was allegedly good for 50knts+.

6.5m with 200HO

When Chris has finished my new 6.5m off with its fly by wire 200HO we will know the answer as to top speed.

Tubes going on in January.

Great stuff, any pics of the build

I thought the 6.5m Vipermax was only rated for 150hp as although the transom can take the weight of a 200Hp it wasn't rated through testing for a 200Hp and hence insurance would be invalid. I am sure that was the case for the older vipermax 6.5's but not sure about the new ones but I am probarbly wrong as always

My 6.5 Vipermax did just over 50 knots with a 200hp Verado

Ask Chris Moody, he was driving it
