Removing flywheel?

I'm currently in the process of trying to get my flywheel off.

I don't have a puller but i have read in some cases that with a bit of luck you can still get it off.

BUT, i can't even get the nut off the top. The flywheel spins as i am trying to undo it. How do i hold the flywheel in place to get enough leverage on the top nut?

I have the powerhead off, does this make it easier / harder?....

Impact wrench or alternatively make a tool to sit in the holes of the flywheel so a colleague can hold it solid for you while you undo the nut.

If (based on your profile) it's a 30, chances are there will be a drum for an emergency start pull cord.

When I did mine I wound a couple of turns round the E- start & lashed off round the starter motor mount. (any suitable solid thing will work) then apply spanner! (but make sure it's a decent bit of rope!)

Dare I ask why you are dismantling?

I would like to remove the starter ring gear, and also drop the flywheel of to be lightened.
