Safety Hub/universal Hub

Has anyone else seen the aarticle in Sportsboat and Rib, Sept edition about Sea Works. Page 38. They have an article on a safety hub to protect outboard props and also shaft drives.

It states it is made/supplied by Safety Hub but I cannot find company or any more info. My marine engineer who I fully trust does not know this, so can someone throw light for us to research.

States" this is a simple device, prevents damage to props if they strike and obstacle, prevents costly repairs, and smooths out shock of engaging forward and reverse gear"

This might work well on training RIB or even larger RIBs but need to know more. Ta

That what new props have been designed to do with rubber or plastic bushes in for some time now - I guess this is more of an upgrade to that system which MAY offer better protection than the standard item.

Cookee, yes thats what my guy said, but this one is a complete unit from images, but I cant find them on the web to add/call. I may being misled by the image in the magazine which shows an exploded view of the hub and what I cannot be sure is that they are not just talking about adding the plastic piece. As you can see I really know nothing about mechanics
