Service costs

What do people think is a fair cost for a service on a Marina 75 2/.
At the same time can anyone suggest a good place between London and the Solent to use?
Many thanks

Neal, asuming she runs okay and she did yesterday then why not DIY, especially as its a a carb 2 stroke, so fairly simple and a mornings work.

New plugs, change gearbox oil (3 tubes required) check water pump, check annodes, drain carbs, clean out fuel filter (Richard B did a good post a while back) grease everything and spray power head with Quicksilver spray stuff.

Check battery and wheel bearings at the same time.

£40 for bits or £150 for dealer to do the same thing if you can find one not snowed under with work at the moment.

Pete

Thanks Pete I am oK with the Plugs and some of the other bits but have had a couple of minor starting probs this year. I am sure it not to much but am going to use the boat on holiday and dont want to have too many problems and let the kids down. I have got a manual so will have a look into doing couple of bits. I think for £150 (if thats the going rate) I would like someone who knows more than me have a look over it but you are right I should be doing it.

Having done bit more digging about on past posts has anyone current experance of the RIB service centre @ Southampton sound OK on the phone.

Service Costs.

Try the following company:

Home Marine, Tarquin Yacht Harbour, Thorney Road, Emsworth PO10 8PB.

Contact Bill Mitchell Tel: 01243 374125.

They have undertaken work for us and he is a good Outboard Engineer.
