Service Price DF140

To Suzuki Owners

What sort of service prices are you paying at main dealer? I have a 2007 DF140 with around 1500 hrs on the clock (commercial).

She’s in for a routine service, impeller kit will be needed, and also some weeping on the trim ram so that’s being repaired before it becomes a problem.

I’m expecting a few hours labour....

I paid close to £500 for mine. Couldn’t help feeling I’d been had.

What sort of hours?

If I’m honest I was actually expecting to be around this price for the age of engine and current hours but really wasn’t sure.

Make sure they check the engine internal anodes at the same time as the service. They're only about £4 each but often missed on a service.

In honesty these DF140's are a very easy service to do yourself once you have the hang of it / owners manual to refer to. The parts come out quite expensive especially the dinosaur oil that Suzuki recommend.

That was just an annual service. Only 50 hours since the previous one. But it was to keep the warranty happy. It’s out of warranty next year, needless to say I’ll be DIY from now on.

Df200 v6 was less than that for the major service. Small ones were about 200.

Nope, I thought it was bad finding a dealer when I had the Evinrudes, but Beeston Marina in Nottingham were spot on & very fair. Finding a Suzuki agent is even worse since Ribquest closed down in Dronfield. I blame Dave Rose[emoji6]

£500, I'd be greet'n.

What did they do for that kind of money. Was timing belt included, full diagnostic hook-up, check and clear?

I reckon £500 is about standard for a four cyl outboard ,standard service at main dealer ,its what i have come to expect locally ,and i dont like it anymore than the next man , very lucky to sit on one dealers doorstep ,and to have three main dealers within 50 miles ,always ring to get better price but it never happens ,one year i took a 40 mile road trip to lings honda for a cheaper price ,however while waiting took the mrs to a furniture outlet and finished up with a new multiyork sofa in the boat for the return journey . great money saving idea
