At the title suggests I have a slow leak down of the ptt unit. It seems to have developed over the winter. It takes 3/4 days for the engine to drop from trimmed out to vertical. Is such a leak down likely to cause a problem when on the water. There is no fluid leaking from the ptt unit.

I’d start by having a look at the filler and bleed screws. Check the o rings on each.
Check the manual release screw. Open & close it a few times & then nip it up. It wouldn't be a problem in the water as long as it stays at the rate of fall. It may increase when under load & the engine is pushing forward. Are there any external oil leaks?

Does the trim work fine when you're out, no delay or gurgle when you raise the engine at the end of the day? You can try topping up fluid first. Tohatsu use Mobil ATF220. Not sure what engine you have.
Not had rib on the water yet this year. Hope to cure it later in the week. There is no external leak, there is no delay of gurgling when using the ptt. I will try the manual release bolt, I think you could be onto something there
Pd I tried your solution and had the manual ptt screw open and cycled the ptt pump. Preliminary results would seem to show that this cured the problem. Thank you very much
