Smart craft - "something" wrong

Hi there,

The digital display in one of my smart craft gauges has stopped working. Its the thaco meter and the display normally shows fuel, used fuel, log etc. The light in the gauge works, and when I turn the key the analog "needle" gives a little jumb.

The rev counter and display seems to be all right...

Last weekend I did some underdeck cabeling, drawing some new cables. It is quite tight in the underdeck loom:-( Can I have been so unlucky that I have ripped a cable from engine to the gauge?? Or can it be "just" the gauge it self? I cant find a fuse anywhere.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
Henrik Jensen

If it worked before, and didn't afterwards, I'd say that's likely your problem.

I had a similarly "huffy" analouge tacho a few weeks ago. Last week I discovered the deadman didn't switch it off (on muffs, thankfully!). and not too soon after that even keying off didn't stop it!!!!! Basically one earth connection in the remote box had loosened, and so none of the "short" functions worked. It also doubled as the earth for the tacho signal.

I've no knowledge about the new fankled digital stuff, but checking all your connectors would be a good start.
