Solid lower mounts

The lower mounts on my mariner 2cyl 40 are badly perished, and I've been quoted over £80 +VAT each for the mounts and £23 +VAT for the bolt and nut!
I was looking on eBay and came across a set of solid mounts, I could easily make a set up to suit my OB but do you think it will transfer too much vibration into the boat? It's a 4.2m SIB.

That's ridiculously expensive. Apparently Yamaha make similar parts, but cheaper (which must be a first for Yamaha!)

Check out this thread on the same subject: http://www.rib.net/forum/f36/engine-...ent-45258.html

Alternatively - check out this business. Some of their bushes might suit. You can pick up the bolts separately.

From Mariner, RRP on the mounts are £62.46 + VAT each, and £10.79 + VAT per bolt. Assuming its a Yam based 40C

Parts from yamaha will be cheaper as spartacus says.

Assuming your cutting the bolts and refitting in reverse I'd say it's money we'll spent. They should last the life of the motor. When I put that thread up on my mounts it worked well but it was nowhere near as bad as those.

I've just bought the same mounts for another we have in. Common Fault.

On mine they will only come out by cutting he bolt as theres no room to pull it out otherwise. re-fit in reverse unless you remove the power head. Looks the same here
