Stand or Lay down??

I Chaps,

Just a quick one; I have my outboard off my transom to refurb the pivot mechanism.

I need to leave it for a couple of weeks to go away to work so at current its leaning upright against the wall of our shed.

Will this be ok? In the manual it says store upright, but doesnt say only on the mounts/ not leaning on its leg. I know this is the norm with small outboards, but is this the same with bigger? Its a 50Hp Short Shaft Tohatsu?

So its basically standing on the skeg (bottom of the leg).

Any thoughts welcomed.

Thanks

You'll be fine unless Tohatsu are still making their engines out of sausage meat........

Thanks for the replies. So are they meant to be weak engines then? I thought they were meant to be fairly solid?

any obm it is better to store upright, But you have to check with your owners manual for an alternative safe way
