Sterndrive pac 22 101

I,ll done a search but cannot find what i need i have also looked at the manual.I have succesfully removed the two rams but am conserned with the tightness of the allen bolts 4 top and 4 bottom that hold on the steering ram also the largish stainless bolts that are oposite the iol feed pipes on the ends of the s/steel ram .The seal is leaking slightly so must be changed.I have removed the complete sterndrive and is under cover so i can completely repaint it.I can see the flexi hose couple onto a fitting.Does this fitting go into the ram and the bottom bolt is keeping the ram located.how does it all conect .not having seen one in peices. If i do it wrong or sheer the bolts i will be in trouble i am considering seeing if the hydrolic company can change the seals with the body still intact ,so all i need to do is release the ram part each end from the bracket. Can anyone give me advice.Should i heat up the ali soak for days with penertrateing oil? The other part i,m having trouble with is the bearing housing that the drive shaft bolts too.it apears not to have been maintained (as it is under the floor)and the bearings rumble like hell.I have removed the 4 bolts holding the casing on lightly prised it but feels like somethings restricting its removeal any ideas.Thankyou in advance.Peter

Pete, might be worth having a search on here, Scary Des did a post describing the inner workings of the rams however I would be tempted to just take them off and take them to a hydraulic specialist.

Thanks Pete,Thats my problem i cant get it off so am looking for tips on how to remove it.And i have no intention of resealing it myselfWhen you know how these things come apart and the bolts are free its easy.My question is in what order do you undo the bolts/inserts on the end of the steering ram

Sorry can't help you there. Mine were replaced by BA Peters as part of an Insurance Claim. How about a phone call to Lancing? they have always been pretty helpful in the past.
