If you want to visit the outback hire a LR

Many years ago believe it or not I owned a disco 200 series, keeping it running was hard cost me a fortune in repairs in the end the floor in the boot had completely rotted away with all the family in it... we looked like the..... Ant Hill Mob

I now have a 03 Nissan Terrano 3 ltr which I've had for 7 years and apart from annual service it aint cost me nowt

n oh so boring too, wouldn't you really like a bit more of the Ant Hill Mob

anyway, you can't judge what's built today with what happened 20 years ago, just look at how Audi are doing these days n think back to the crap they built 40 years ago

It was done by a retired matey and its done right, I'm going to sell it on, you're right it is way too good to break, I've got a mate who has an out and out racer, I suspect he will have it

would make a good tow bus for his racer
I've given up with the off road racing, the best days are well gone, too much money in it now, the old home builds and good ol home engineering can't keep up with the big dosh needed these days
I'm happy bobbing about on the rib, the odd good blast to blow the cobwebs away, n sitting on a nice beech with the warm sand in me toes does the trick these days

Bit like that myself Chris, I used to go off roading and was quite active in the early days of developing all kinds of stuff for the rangey, but siting in the sun just thinking about stuff is good for me
