Suzuki DF 6

Hello

I am new to this site and this is my first post so please go easy on me

Problem is I have a suzuki df6 auxiliary and as most of these it is not used much it dose get a service every year by me but I started it up at the weekend and it was running Ok tried to put it into gear and the lever is solid I switched it off and got some wd40 around the gear lever and managed to free it up a little but is still very hard to engage gear.

Had another look at it today and it was solid again took the lever off the square shaft that it attached to it didn't look so bad not big amounts of salt build up on it sprayed it again with wd40 but its not making much difference has anybody any past experience with this problem or would know how I can sort this out.

Thanks
Maurice
