Suzuki DF115 ECU

Anybody know of one being broken? looking for the ECU and possibly Cams.
Had a good look through the parts manual and service manual and these are the only parts different to my DF90.
Its a lot cheaper than buying a new engine to get more power...........

Are you sure you're not comparing the 115 with the 100, rather than the 90?

I could just say..................yes.

but I'll expand on this
The pre 2010 DF90 and DF115 are to all intents and purposes identical. I want a bigger outboard and the cheapest way of getting this is to change the ecu, camshafts and the prop on my existing 2006 DF90.
So, I am looking for a secondhand ecu and I'll probably buy new camshafts.

Whew! I thought you'd taken to drink there. And I'd forgotten how old that engine of yours is. You should really think about trading the whole thing in Bruce. You know you want to...

There's a dealer in the US with plenty Suzuki parts, assuming its the same part number (33920-90J10). Price:$699.99 - Suzuki DF115 4-stroke Engine Control Unit 33920-90J10 - Outboard Motors & Components,Motors/Engines & Components - Boat Parts

I can see why you're staying with the same engine rather than upgrading. Warsash Marine have a 2011/2012 DF115 long shaft ex-demonstrator (10 hours) for £8,500.

Mines an XL shaft as well!

I had seen the couple of US ads including that one but neither will ship to the UK. Mainly looking for a UK breaking motor that I can get the ecu off.

Got a s/h ecu now, will shortly put them on the outboard and see what happens. If all works well I'll have upgraded to a 115 from a 90 for £600.

Good work!

What do you reckon, another 5-6 knots plus better hole-shot?

Unfortunately two years of the boat sitting in the drive hasn't helped me get this job done..
However I have ordered all the necessary gaskets, and the 115 sticker for the cowling of course, and intend to change out the cams and change the ECU over the next month or so.
Although my reading of the service and parts manual says this is perfectly feasible has anybody else try this conversion?
Its commonly mentioned on forums but can't see any evidence that anybody has actually done it for real.
In theory altered mapping with slightly different and larger cam timing plus another 500 for the 115 revs should work
I'll soon find out if it can be done and everything else within the engine is the same as the parts manuals suggest!.

I'd leave it badged as a 90, you might win a few bets

Won't win any races even with a 115, it a bit of a porky 5.8 because of all the kit on board and the weight of the missus...............

I have something most folk wish they had, a wife with a sense of humour...........
Now if I could just get her to do all the cooking and cleaning in the maids outfit she would be just perfect
