Suzuki DF250 variants - opinions sought

Hi All,

I have a second-hand boat on my radar which comes with a DF250 on it. I was perusing the pics and noticed that it has the mechanical throttle controls on it rather than the Fly-by-wire ones seen on my mate's DF175. I started investigating this, and found that there are two different DF250s listed on Suzuki's site: the DF250TX and the DF250APX

Comparing the specs of the two; the TX is a lot lighter (275kg vs 290kg) and lower displacement, with a different gear ratio to compensate. The AP seems to be a de-tuned version of the 300AP.

What I'm interested in are the relative merits of these two units. I'm guessing that since the TX is still offered on the Suzuki site that it's not just a case of it just being the older version of the same thing. I'd be interested to hear informed opinions of the issue.

Cheers
