Suzuki DT 55 Tilt and Trim

Afternoon everyone,

Decided to take the boat out over the weekend. Used it a few months ago, all fine.

This time all fine other than tilt & trim not working properly. The tilt worked a little but would not go up beyond a certain point. Neither will now move at all.

I can hear the pump working well but nothing moves. I did see a screw marked "pressure relief valve" on the side but didn't know what it did.

Please can anyone help.

The shaft on the motor can shear from what I have heard. It's a matter of un bolting the motor and replacing the shaft. I have heard of guys just grinding a tool down to fit the shaft but not sure.

if it's only going part way have you checked the level of oil in the system? - most PTT units are similar - undo the big filler cap screw and check there is oil in there,

The fun bit might be finding where it's leaking from!

Are the solenoid valves operating correctly?
Try connecting wire from the solenoid valve straight to the motor.
If it moves hen you need new solenoid valves.
