I have a 1989 Suzuki Dt100 2 Stroke. It will start but when i put it in gear and advance the throttle it dies on me. it will start right back up though. It does run very well when you pull up on the Warm up lever. It has me bafaled cause i know its getting gas. Any possibile solutions? i was told tomething about a screen that is in the inline oil filter is this true?
I have now narrowed it down to only the #1 & #4 cylinders are not firing. Is there some other safety pecausion that Suzuki has that would cause these 2 cylinders not to fire. The motor does have good compression. Any help would be nice.
There are 4 coils on the top of the motor by the flywheel and they are each $100 us curency but i have not yet figured out if they are bad. also the Computer units CDI are very pricy as well $983. There are 4 carbs on this motor they are double stacked 2 on top and 2 on bottom. if i change the wiring and switch the coils around to the #1 & #4 cylinders if they fire that means i have bad coils. Does anyone know if there is a machine that these motors can be hooked up to like a car to tell what is wrong. I'm trying to work on this myself cause the nearest suzuki dealer is almost 1 1/2 hours away.
