Suzuki dt4 cooling

Hi all
Just fitted a new impeller but the water flow from the return pipe is still only a trickle.
Have removed the lower end and blown air up through the pipe but cannot feel much, if anything coming through the return. Have blown air up the return and can hear air in the leg chamber but not much down the pipe. Have stuck a wire up the tube as far as I can.
What is the easiest way I can establish that the water tube is correctly located in the water jacket grommet and then check I have an uninterrupted water cycle.
Many thanks in advance
Sibbob

My DT4 only used to trickle even with a new impellor. I put it down to design as the tell tale was never too warm and I ran it a good couple of hours each time trolling a 21 foot boat for makeral.

Thanks for the reply.
For my own peace of mind I want to check it out.
Do you know how I can do this without a full strip down

No sorry I don't. I did start to look into it, but when I changed the impellor and nothing changed on the tell tale I just ran it and lived with it
