Suzuki Gauges

My Suzi arrived today at work with all its goodies like prop and instruments. Quite pleased as the package from Ribcraft included everything needed right down to bolts and primer bulb to rig the motor to the boat. All I need is a couple of cables, fuel tank and battery, plus the hull which isn't ready for a few weeks of course!
Anyway I had been waiting till it arrived to see what instruments it came with before deciding what I was going to fit. It came with a multifunction tacho and a trim gauge so looking tonight to see what and how much was available. I quite fancied an hour meter and a volt meter but am horrified by the price of the white versions to match existing at IBS. Is there anyone else that does these gauges and for general rigging bits and spares for Suzis? A web search doesn't seem to bring up much and they are not even mentioned on the Suzuki site........
It is a big Ba***d for a 90hp as well.................

lol........

I use IMS for all my suzuki 2-stroke parts; usually a next-day service.
Obviously (because it's for a boat engine) prices often seem 'ouch' but generally they seem quite good.

Be interested to know how they compare!

Cheers,

Orve.

I know about "marine" prices but what shocked me was the cost of a genuine Suzi hourmeter, black at £52 and the same gauge in white................£114!

Hi Bruce
I get ALL my Suzuki bits from "store.brownspoint.com" in USA. Even with carriage and duty costs I have saved a mint on propellers, filters, anodes, cables and guages. After my first order they gave me a 15% discount on all orders. To give you an idea of costs the Suzuki White Instruments are currently full prices as follows, Tacho/Multi Function $134; Trim $64; Volt $72 and Hour $105. Service and delivery times have been great. Hope this is of use to you.

What are the tax and duty implications of importing to The IOM?

Possibly different from mainland UK?

I am considering ordering the SIMS system starter kit.

http://store.brownspoint.com/detail....90C0-88001-KIT

Cant seem to find a great deal of info/review on how good it actually is though.

Anyone got this system ?

I can find little info on any of these systems, be nice to have more than is available to see if they are worth the money. Does anybody have it? Opinions?

Am I right in thinking that with this kit everything required is supplied to connect to a Suzi 90 and monitor everything on the motor? You don't need any other sensors or gauges like a plotter etc connected unless you also want position displayed?

I went for the SMIS but haven't fitted it yet. Bought mine from Brownspoint marine in USA. Fantastic value in comparison to local dealer, almost half price. Should show all the engine diagnostics and gauges. Only thing it doesn't do is water pressure.
