That's a really good price Jeff... I think my spare was over £100 from Suzuki. Is yours a Solas brand?

no mate it will be a copy i would think my boat is with the mechanics at the moment having the slew bushes replaced well i hope thats all it is, so not able to look but it seems good quality for a second prop although it came in a stainless steel prop box so no clue there. to be honest i have had props before with no ident and been ok, my thinking with this is i have gone up a pitch which could lower my revs by 200-500 rpm at its lowest giving me 5150 rpm WOT still within its rev range so if it doesn't perform its £62 lost but still a get you home prop.
hopefully i will get the boat back before friday going up to ERR so will do a trial weather permitting up there and report back i will run it all week to see if it stands up & performs.
having a service at the same time will report on that too.

When I ran Mercury/Mariner 10hp & 15hp motors I found the quality and performance of non-OE props pretty poor... the OE ones were superbly made.

However I have two OE Suzuki props for my DF20A and they are of a similar quality to pattern props... very average casting and paint finish... so if I wanted another I'd not bother with the price premium to buy OE.

Anyway regardless of how nice the paint finish if they work they work.

totally agree spare prop to get you home/not spoil your hols plus it's experimenting i do know the 10 1/4 x 11 performs really well and i could probably go down to a 10 1/4 x 10 taking me up to near max revs but not going to do that on a regular basis so wasting money really, if i get 20 knots WOT out of this lowering the RPM that will do. paint finish is very good on it not as shiny as the suzuki prop more of a matt, might cause a bit of drag but i could get that sorted if it's an issue, boils down to £62 for peace of mind.

edit just looked on ron hale site costs genuine suzuki props.

basic £74.12
10 inch + £72.23
11 inch + £14.57
12 inch + £62.55
