Tilt Locking pin repair: 2 Minute fix

HI, all i needed to do a fix on my Tilt lock pin, it was broken on my Mariner 25, it had a split pin and a washer to lock it in place,

If i had the second part i would of used a roll pin or a spring pin, but as i never had it since owning the outboard i had to work with the rod.

i thought it might get somebody out of trouble if there Tilt lock pin was worn or loose, or the original hole was out of tolerance and could risk being lost in the water.

Halfords sell a multiple pack at 7.99 and comes with 25 of each size.
I matched the hole to an R clip which was very tight to insert.

Thought i would share the repair so others who need a fix may seek to use this idea. just in case they find themselves in the same situation

regards.
