Tilting an engine with no hydraulics?

Does anyone have any tips for raising an engine without the hydraulics?

I suspect a leak of fluid, as the engine stopped responding to trim and when we got back to shore would not tilt either, the pump is running but there is not even a gurgle.

Have loosened the screw and tried to pull on it, but not moving much at all.

As ever all help is greatly appreciated!

How far loose have you undone the screw some need a few turns to allow the oil to pass

Its typically does not need a lot of twist, so its at a point whee it would normally drop under its own weight - never tried lifting it.

Was not aware that they loosen more than that, so will give it a good go!

The thing is going down the engine is forcing the oil going up your lifting the engine & forcing the oil out, if its not open far enough its like stuffing an elephant through a letterbox
