TinyTach/pac22

1. Just fitted one onto our pac22, as advised by the forum.
Our vdo tacho has not worked from getting boat and they are not cheap to replace, but this little unit is BRILL and easy to fit.

2. Our pac22 is now running at 2350 max any ideas of max RPM.
It has the next sternpower up from the normal and with a monster 19" prop.
Engine was a 140 till i had a little tweak, and getting 24 knots flat out.

Paul hi, max revs are 2600, normal prop is 16.75 x 21. On the look out for a 23" prop but the original props my michaigan wheel in the states are no longer made, so currently using lancing but they are £300.

Is 19" the diameter

Pete

Pac22

Hi Pete
Yep prop is 19" Dia. as i said a monster prop, as supplied with boat from neville.
Neville did say that it would be ok as we have the upgraded leg and that we were not going to load boat up to max carrying capacity, as it will only be coded for 4

Paul,

Yep, those TinyTach units are excellent - I have been using mine for 2 seasons now - a doddle to fit - and have had absolutely no problems with it at all! I like how it also works as an 'hours' meter when the engine is not running. And the battery life is estimated at 10 years - great little bit of kit!

2350 isn’t fast enough, what boost are you getting and have you got a clean bottom (on the boat)
What is RPM without load
And 19” X ?

Des,
Thanks for reply.
Prop is 19x19
Clean bum as it lives on a trailer.
Boost press. Well thats another guage that hasnt worked since getting it, as a 12v guage was fitted and was going to fit volt dropper to guage when doing tacho. But now have tinytach mounted elsewhere. But will get it fixed by next time out.But i must admit the engine doesnt seem to be running fast enough. Off load RPM not known will run up after guage fixed and back in water.
