tldi battery
I am now aware you need a batter of at least 850cca for the 50hp tldi. Currently I am running one with 650cca and it's opperating fine (bought battery before engine).

I figured it is probably best to work to the manufactures spec and the best battery I can find is a numax one with 1000cca and 86ah.

Should this one be ok? 12V 86AH (85AH & 75AH) Numax XV24MF Dual Purpose Battery Leisure & Marine Range | eBay

just noticed on ebay it states 1000mca but on amazon for the same battery it states 1000cca (i am away that 1000mca will be around 7-800 cca) what to believe?

That sounds like a large cca rating for a 50. Are you sure of your info?

It is a lot, but it is what is recommended by tohatsu. It's something to do with initializing the ecu and this take more cca because it is direct injection.

Annoying but guess I just got to follow what they say as I wouldn't want to put the engine at risk for the sake of £70

Tohatsu UK fitted a Numax CXV "XV31MF" battery with my 50HP TLDI outboard. It's 1000 MCA and 110 Ah. Have had no problems with it, touch wood! lol
