Tohatsu 15HP EFI fault?

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what may have caused the issue below. My new Tohastu 15hp EFI has just had its first 3 month oil service. The engine oil and filters were changed for new.

First trip out after this we got around 1.5 miles downstream of the launch slip the engine started undulating and spluttering at anything other than its lowest forward speed. A red warning light came on which the manual states is low oil pressure.

With my complete absence of outboard maintenance knowledge we limped to the shallows to anchor. Turned the engine on and off and the light went off and the engine seemed ok for the rest of the day.

Any ideas? Im presuming it was something to do with the oil service? Perhaps refilling of the oil filters on its first run dropped the pressure abit?

if it went on any longer it would have been a coastguard call!

Thanks
Ben

Oil refilled to the correct level at a service will get round the engine to fully pressure in seconds not take over a mile to show an issue.

What is the oil level now?

Possibly a faulty oil pressure sensor and the service a coincidence??

Speak to the dealer... they may want to plug in the diagnostics.

Assume the spluttering was the low speed ESG kicking in to limit revs under 2800 when the alarm activated. Will stay in limp mode until restarted and cause rectified.

Continuous alarm could be low oil pressure or high water temp overheating. Good chance it was low oil pressure as recent filter and oil change with filter not fully filled. Has the oil level gone down since this incident?

If it is this then shame on servicing dealer.
