Tohatsu 50 gaskets

Hi,

anyone know if it's possible to buy a complete gasket "kit" for a 2006 tohatsu 50?
I'm going to be rebuilding the powerhead with some nice parts and think I'll need new gaskets all round.

Cheers,
Seumas

If it's a 2 strokes parts are currently available along new engines, don't know about UK though. Check with a UK Tohatsu distributer for spare parts.

Happy Boating

Pretty sure you can get a gasket kit Seumas. The part number is 3C8-87121-A (Tohatsu M40D2/50D2) including gaskets, oil seals an 'o' rings for head rebuild. Hope you've set aside a few quid, as they're not cheap. As an example the Tohatsu cylinder head gasket on its own (2006 M60C) is £65 including VAT and shipping. They're very good quality by the way.

Speak to Nick Rae at Gael Force in Inverness to order.

Not sure how much more speed you intend to squeeze out of your 50 you go like the clappers anyway. £183 buys a lot of fuel.

I reckon I can get a fair bit more out of it. I quit enjoy modifying the engine, learning about what can be done, seeing the effects of each thing.

I have to take the block apart to get the crank welded anyway (tohatsu 50 crank is prone to coming apart) so I thought it best to replace the gaskets while I'm at it, do it right do it once.
