When I flushed the outboard after last trip I noticed I've lost a "bolt" from the middle section behind the clamp where what looks like an "earth/grounding?" wire clamps in.
I've looked on the tinterweb and found a manual, from what I can see seems to be a grease nipple which I was intending to replace and re-pack with grease.
Could anyone please let me know if this is indeed a simple fix or needs a workshop?
Will take it in if I need to as I've got the mechanical ability of a drunk donkey but only used it 3 times since full service last summer and the nearest workshop is a 50 mile round trip which means taking half a day off work
You're spot on. It's the lower grease nipple on the pivot shaft.
Easy fix. Wip out the top grease nipple and get a replacement from a local motor factor or engineering shop.
Pump some new grease in if you think it's been out a while. [emoji106]
