Tohatsu TLDI NMEA 0183

Hi all,
I've a Tohatsu TLDI 115a (2006) engine on the back of the rib. I believe this doesnt support NMEA2000. I have a Lowrance HDS Gen2 Touch Sounder/plotter on the console and would like engine info to be displayed on this (fuel usage, revs, temp etc etc). Anyone know if this is possible? I've seen these 0183-2000 converters on the market but not sure if these would do the job.
Many thanks in advance.

It all depends, does your engine output the required data over 0183? If so, a simple 0183-2000 gateway “should” work. If not, one of these “might” work https://www.actisense.com/product/emu-1/
I’ve used Actisense kit over the years & it’s top quality & the backup from Actisense is very good. I’m not sure the end result would justify the cost & effort though.
All imo

Thanks. I'll have a root about to see what's actually outputted on 0183. My main wish is for fuel usage data but might just opt for a Lowrance fuel flow sensor and plumb that it. Thanks again.

I doubt if the engine will output much, if any data over 0183.

You can get individual sensors from Lowrance & a few other places do "analog to nmea2k" boxes with a selection of inputs suitable for engine monitoring.

Granted the a2d boxes you then need to find suitable pressure, temp, etc sensors, the lowrance kit just plugs into the network but you get a h*ll of a spaghetti junction of wires under your cowl....

I have my Merc Clamshell (60s design vintage) showing head temp and coolant pressure on my nmea 2K plotter....
