Tomos 4 score !!
Bit of History.. had a Tomos 4 back in the early 80's, so was fairly familiar with the marque.
Picked up a cheap Zodiac Futura off eBay so was looking for a really cheap outboard, just to bimble about the rivers with the kids, while i look for a decent 20/25hp to go a little further afield.
Gumtree result, was a Tomos4 that was originally unsold on ebay, that was up for £35 !! BARGAIN !!
Picked it up, everything was stiff and corroded, but after filling with Aspen 2 synthetic 2stroke fuel and a good clean and lube, she fired and today, i ran her in a tank of water for 2 hours, non stop.
Also managed to source a spare prop from a scrapped Ailsa Craig motor that was also on gumtree.
So, i have a running Tomos 4, spare fuel pump, carb, pull start assembly, propeller, throttle cable.. all for less than £70 !!
