Touching Up

We have a couple of blisters on the skeg
I have picked off the lose stuff and i have a can of Yamaha spray paint
but do i need to prime it first, and what do i use for primer
the biggest scab is about a 50p size
or as normal am i over the top fussy.

best to etch prime it first Roy, put gentle heat on the area first then paint and only do thin coats

If you have a search on google you'll find etch primer.

Most car places will sell it.

I have heard that another option would be to use 2 comp epoxy primer(Hempel light primer as an example). However dont' have own experience and dont know how the finish paint will react with such a primer so maybe better to use traditional etch primer.
