Mercury/Mariner 6hp - 15hp weighs 34kg. A Bit heavier than your looking for.

Thanks td, so if itt based on weight I may as well get a 15hp. Do the marathons weigh more?
Whats the difference between the two apart from marathons been more commercial?

They are the same weight, I think they are all marathon these days!. The Marathons had things like better water pump housings some had no thermostats etc etc. Nothing to special really.

Just got a SIB that will take a 4hp outboard, the heaviest 4hp is 27kg so in theory if can find the most powerful two stroke of that weight it'll fly... settled for a 6hp 2 stroke though.

Yap, that's how it works.

My SIB rated for the 50kg motor or 15hp. I'm on the market for the 25hp Force motor @ 42kg and 3cylinders!

So we're in "the same boat"...but in different boats in fact.
