Well, my techincal view if you were to phone me up as an official customer would be, as i have said before. The only different part between the 25/30hp is the gasket behind the carb. ( and of course the £200, 30hp decal set!).

Here is a pic of the engine. Hope this helps clarify the model.

Had 46kph out of it with 2 adults and loads of gear in mildly choppy water. As I said before, don't think it goes much quicker but has loads more grunt. Just bought a knee board so will give that a go as well as skiing.

Also just saw a new Tohatsu 30hp in a dealers that looked exactly the same for £2,200 (reduced from £2,699)...I paid £1,800 for the 25hp a year ago.

Has anyone tried replacing the gasket and what results were achieved?
Did the timing need to be adjusted and if so, what was the end result(s)?
