Verado 350 miami

At last the Verado 350 has been unveiled.

http://www.boats.com/news-reviews/ar...outboard-debut

This is a Verado I may want - at least it now has a decent power to weight ratio.........

New engine weighs 681lbs or 310kgs - not exactly light but a lot better than a Yam V8. There is a rumour that the actual power output may be as high as 380hp - if so I definitely want one!!!

Nice one Cod, had kept an eye out amongst the guys in the know but until you posted that link had still not come across any spec's...it is similar to how I'd imagined as I mentioned in the other thread last week, a kind of racing'ish but not racing racing version should be perfect for your boat...defo give your boat a bit of kick Codprawn get ye wallet out now for a speedy boating season

I would rather an ETEC V8 but it's taken them long enough to produce the 300!!!

I won't order one for this season - I don't like being a guinea pig - but it will make a great winter project. By then I should have our new shipping company up and running and save a fortune by importing one.

Ye that could prove very frustrating should it have many bugs to be ironed out and at $30k plus tax it's a lot of dosh to find out...I guess it will be interesting to see if ETEC up their game to match HP with Verado

Codders, is your Rib able to take a 350?

What sort of performance would you get with a 350 on board

It is lighter than twins and it is rated for 2x250 or 300s. I was hoping for about 65 - 70mph - it is quite a heavy boat.

Isn't your boat similar or based on a Revenger. I had the twin 225 on the San Marino which is a 25 foot hull felt there was to much weight on the stern. weight 450 kg. A 300 merc should push mine to 63 ish so i guess 350hp @ 310kg pushing about 70 mph. Could be the engine to bring life back to the San marino

Yes it's a Revenger hull clone but with quite a bit more beam and a fuller bow section - fortunately all this is out of the water so the wetted area is the same but the weight isn't. I also have 500L of internal tanks!!!

Was having a chat with Gordon McMath (revenger) the other day and I had thought the Verado 350 would be the engine to have also

"This motor will require 91-octane fuel. "

Does this mean 95/96 RON in the UK?
And is this available?

It will run on regular unleaded in the UK just like the other Verados
