Thanks Mike - counting already days to Easdale [emoji6]
First and biggest difference between Fast Forward and Ocean Devil during the summer cruise will be that I will still sleep on the deck while you guys sleeping in the cabin [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Bushrider, sorry I missed the opportunity to meet you on Saturday 27th but unfortunately when I got into the Solent and heading for Yarmouth the screens on my VV7 and Simrad NNS9 just went dark and could not see a thing. I decided to play it safe and returned to SDS
BTW nice Scorpion RIB congratulations
Our Russian dealer takes many Parker 10 mtr cabin ribs and all with twin D4 or D6 (370s & 400s) He says he cannot fault them so good choice .

Andre - pity that we could not meet . Was a great day out.
I am planning to come just before new year back to Southampton .
Could be another chance to meet .
As for Russia - although I am living here at the Baltic Sea in St Petersburg I have no time for boating - which is a pity ..

The Volvo Penta's have a good reputation, with spares readily available and enough VP trained marine engineers (at least in the UK - I don't know about Germany, but I should imagine that it is similar) . We have twin D4's on our main boat (a Prestige 34) and can get spares etc.
Also, workshop manuals and other technical information is reasonably available. The D4 and D6 Workshop Manual manual is part number 47700149, dated 05-2016 . (At least that's what it says on mine.!) It is very good - even I can follow it!

The original Post said "While the Yanmar has the reputation being bullet proof but suffers from turbo lag - what about the Volvo ?" I was answering that question!

Wow!!! Nice rib. Seen a short youtube clip about this rib.....no smoke!! Think you made a good choice and can have some realy serious fun with this one. The weight from an inboard diesel in high waves makes the ride confy and stable. Have fun!

Hell yeah!! That’s not slow! And the most fun is at the pump when you take diesel instead of petrol. Burn some diesel oil and ride it like you stole it, have fun.

This has popped up on Ribnet, nothing to do with me but if your new boat hasn't got one fitted it might be worth your while investing in a bit of extra strength for the engine block.

Congratulations on your Scorp.

You certainly got a good one Bushrider. I know that because I used to own it, superb soft riding hull for cruising.
I fitted those top air vents to keep the engine compartment super dry.
Have fun! Look forward to seeing more about this epic rib in the future.

Got a fair bit of experience with the Volvo D6 series engines. They are great performers. A lot depends on the quality of the installation in the earlier versions, because there were a few components that didn't like to get wet (on a boat, who knew?) but the new Volvo D6's are sweet as.
Here's a youtube of a our ZH930 with twin Volvo inboards.

It's been on the market already quite a while .
Any issues with hardware ?
Electronics ?
What about the DP-R drive ?

I remember this comment from wilk which very well talks about the turbo lag of the 6LP [emoji16]
After getting advice from very experienced 6LP users I designed and installed a prop vent system .
In Easdale I tested it and the time to get on plane reduced drastically by almost 2/3 .
With aerated props the motor spools up MUCH quicker which helps to produce far earlier sufficient boost pressure .
What is left to do for next winter is to build a nice stainless tube following the shape of the Bravo in order to replace the long hose .
