Vospower jet drive

Hi, I bought a 6m ribtec with a yanmar 4 lh inboard diesel and a vospower 90 a jetdrive. I fitted a new turbo and air filter, serviced the engine and greased up propshaft and jetdrive. second time out the boat was vibrating and would not get up on the plane,on inspection I have managed to snap off the jetdrive bearing housing.
I have spoken to a very helpful guy at Niaad who has quoted 2400 for parts to repair or 3600 for a new jet drive.
I've taken the shaft to an engineering shop who can repair it but the bearing housing and all the bearings and seals reqd are still the best part of a grand.
Does anyone have any used spares. I'm reaching the point where the money I've spent is more than the boat is worth
Thanks for looking

You could try going to a bearing supplier to get as many of the bits as possible (if they are still indentifiable). Will be a bit more hassle etc but could save quite a bit of money.

Thanks Dave
The problem I have is this
The cast alloy bearing housing has sheared in half where it joins the jet drive at the transom. A new updated bronze housing is 600 and 230 for a bearing clamp
The taper rollers seals shims are about 200
If I could get hold of a housing I'd spend 200 and fill it with new everything
What worries me is what has caused this, the boat was doing 37 knots flat out but there was a vibration you could feel as tingling in your feet,so I greased the bearing housing and the ujs on the propshaft.Next time out just as I gassed it out of marina the housing snapped.
The taper rollers are toasted so I think they were already shot, then I've fired 230hp through what was a weak point.
I've sent the propshaft to be checked and balanced in case the vibration from that caused the shear off. Will a bronze housing be stronger?
Sorry to bore you but this is my first boat, and although it has been a complete money pit in a sad way I've grown quite attached to it.Is this normal?
Thanks for looking

Unfortunately yes.

I guess the tricky part is having to buy the Vospower part - the rest of it you seem confident with re-building.
They were quite a small volume production so secondhand spares might be tricky to find.

Something in the back of my mind is saying PP jets. I wonder if Vospers developed them from PP jets.

On the bright side- if there is a bright side - the costs you're looking at are no more than replacing the lower half of a sterndrive.
