Did you buy one from Bill Higham? I got one from him recently, expensive but very good condition. I’m assuming you have gauges etc for it? If not, then shop around - BHG have a genuine set for it at literally half the price he quoted.

Yes, ex RNLI engines. I thought he had a couple still on eBay? He had put 90 carbs in some of the 75s so may have them as 90s?

I believe there’s a slight change to timing needed as well. I may be wrong, mine is a straight 75 hp.

They are essentially same engine, blocks etc and nearly if not all parts are interchangeable.

The carbs are exactly the same, it’s a common myth that the 90 has different carbs from the 75hp. The jetting is different but the venturi are the same.

The physical differences are the 75hp had a low compression cylinder head and restricted exhaust tuner.
80hp had high compression head, restricted exhaust.
85hp low compression head, unrestricted exhaust.
90hp high compression head, unrestricted exhaust.

The later 75hp may have had the high compression head fitted.
