I got the one out of ribraff's old searider, few holes in it but nothing a bit of filler can't fix!

I am going to keep that console up front in it. there is still the original threads to fit a center console. Can't wait to bung an engine on the back

Got it for £1300 in the end with the trailer...deal outside ebay, long story shor I think he was tired of unrealiable ebayers and didn't fancy getting charged again so i got a bargain.

Nice one I paid £1750 for it, changed the trailer, re trimmed the bunks and spent over £100 on the bearings.... Ouch!

I know all the history if you want to know it

That would be excellent! It is a very nice trailer indeed. When did you own it, your not the one who did the dodgy repair to the keel guard are you? it got some nice un sanded fiberglass and is painted light orange luckily only a small area) , only job that needs doing though seems like such a solid boat!

Your SR4 was bought by Bournemouth Lifeguard Corps http://bournemouthlifeguards.co.uk/ were it was loved by all it's members, it was ordered through BHG Marine. It's been kept under cover all it's life and it really is a cool rib. It was a one off build by Avon with a D Class style Console and a lace up bow cover that allows access to the battery compartment. It has a shock mitigation flooring and was used with a Mariner 40 on a tiller. I think they added the blue ropes, oar retaining blocks and a few extra grab handles.

I bought it from BLC about a year ago? when they were looking to raise the funds for a second Arancia 3.88, The SR4 was launched using a small blue tractor.

I didn't do any work on the hull, but I did do a lot of running round to get the trailer sorted and it cost a fortune in the end, I recovered the bunks and had very expensive bearings fitted by a trailer company who had to press the races out.

It had a fuel bladder and I added a second one. I bought it to mess about with and I was going to build a tent for it so you could sleep on the deck but then Matt wanted it so I let him have it. I also bought a international Orange SR4.7 console for it (which I still have) and I was going to make it removable.

It's changed hands a few times since for about £1750 so you got a bargain at £1300

As a deep V it wouldn't be that nice with a tiller so the best thing for it is a console and steering. This rib will absolutely fly with a Yamaha 40hp Long shaft 2 stroke and power tilt and trim would make it perfect.

Nice rib and a great purchase

Nice rib and a great purchase
I used the boat many times whilst on lifeguard events - I preferred her to the center console version, more room, great fun in the surf and a good feel for the sea.

Pleased she's in a good home.

....didn't get to see the engine, got the info too late last night to arrange a viewing and no-one was in when I knocked as I passed by this morning but from the info supplied by Henry, combined with what I saw at the address this morning (and the fact that the postman was delivering to someone at that address whose name tallied with what Henry gave me), plus a phone call to a mate heavily involved in RYA matters ooop north who'd heard of him, I'd be happy to let Henry proceed to get whatever deal he can put together, as long as he's not expecting a fully working engine.

The guy selling the gear has demonstrable involvement with a couple of local sailing clubs, whose details I've passed to Henry, and runs an organisation (in his spare time I think) that provides sailing and jet-skiing experiences for disabled people.

A google search of his name/organisation even shows a few Youtube vids of him lecturing in a college (wearing an RNLI shirt) so Henry can check whether the voice he's spoken with on the phone matches the one in the series of clips on Youtube....

I should be a private investigator!

That is very thorough, nice going, it's good to see a nipper who is not in front of a gaming console

im going to go ahead with the purchase! Thats great whisper, thanks very much!

You would't sell that sr4 console would you? That would save me paying for postage of rib raffs one. Good idea making it removable because then i can also use it as a family boat when everyone want to come in.

So happy with that purchase, as i said just that dodgy keel guard repair (lucklily not the actual hull)

I think I am putting a 4 stroke on it though, not a 2 stroke, after Matt shared with me his experienced of his 40hp yam 4 stroke on his sr4.

Sooo excited to get that on the water!
