Weak tell tale

Hi all,

2010 Mariner 60ELPT, when first started and at idle, nothing comes out of the tell tale. Tell tale and all associated pipes are perfectly clear.

If I take the tell tale pipe off and suck on it, water flows perfectly and continues to do so until I turn the boat off and restart it. Then nothing until I suck on it again. I can also get it to work perfectly if I let the engine fast idle, but again it will stop once I turn off and restart.

Does this sound like a weak impeller? Don’t want to have to drop the leg unless I absolutely have to.

Possible something is plugging the small outlet? While running shove a wire up the hole and try to clear it.

I would inspect the impeller. Once you have done the job once you will be able to drop the leg in less than 5 minutes.
