Westway 2 stroke marine oil

Westway Lubricants advertise some very reasonably priced fully synthetic 2 stroke TC-W3 oil on eBay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-Litre-M...YAAOSwJq1ZZlHY

Has anyone used it or have any general advice regarding its use in a 20 year old 200hp Yamaha?

Thanks in advance.

You normally get three opinions on all this.

1). I only ever use XXX [insert big brand name here].
2). I use any old 2 stroke oil marine or not.
3. If it meets TC-W3 then it's fine.

Thanks Max. Having spent some time searching through the forum, you do seem to be right!

I usually advise 3 but myself use 1 ha ha. Broadly speaking any oil that meets the spec will be at least OK. But the makers and other higher priced branded oil may just have a little more protection, smoke less and leave fewer deposits on the piston/rings.

It's OK for small OB guys like myself who go belt and braces as running with makers oil only costs around 50p - £1 extra for a day on the water compared with a budget brand.

I have no idea of your oil usage but I guess the Westway vs Yamalube price difference would be significant for such a large 2-stroke... perhaps 10x more than mine?
