Wet Exhaust Sealant

On my diesel inboard the exhaust outlet is underwater.

The outlet is an aluminium tube with a flange on it that bolts through the transom. There is about 300mm of tube on the inside of the transom.

I'm going to use a couple of Mikalor clamps to seal the exhaust hose to the outlet but does anyone put sealant in the joint and if so, what do they use?
