Where do I look for a s/h engine?

I don't fancy eBay any more, its full of other people's scrap or our friend outboards12.

Boats and outboards seems full of scams

Find a Fishing Boat never really has much of a selection.

Where now?

I was originally looking at maybe a Yamaha 115/130 2 stroke BUT after a bit of thinking I'm not ruling out a four stroke now.

There was a nice Suzuki 115 four stroke for £3k on B&O but it was waaay down south.

It was bang on my budget too.

Always the same for me too. Always lots of gear available on the south coast and some of it looks good value.
I managed to find my last engine in Glasgow on here and paid to have it shipped but was confident of the seller. There's nobody in my part of the country that provides even a decent service for outboards.

More often than not - some second hand outboards aren't even advertised. Worth phoning around a few of the dealers. They may know of a boat that's coming in that's due to upgrade the engine.

Yammie stuff, then speak to Graeme at Mackay Marine (Aberdeen) or Yampower in Glasgow. Honda then Ardoran Marine or Clyde Outboard Services (Suzuki, Honda).

I've PM you the location of 2004 Honda 115hp.

& Tohatsu. I've bought two engines from Clyde Outboards & get all my work done there despite the 200 miles to get there...

Try boatsandoutboards4sale (Peter), he's a member on here

He gets some nice engines in:

Browse our Listings | BoatsandOutboards4Sale

2 Stroke Yam 115's are normally reasonably priced so it's worth holding out for the right one.

Apollo duck is quite good too
