Which oil pump for Tohatsu 9.8hp?

Last time I changed the gear box oil in my Mariner 5hp, I just used a tube of gear oil and squeezed it in.

The 9.8hp is slightly bigger, so thought it might be worth getting one of the pumps to get it all in easier. Looking on eBay though, it's not obvious what would be suitable for this engine.

Can anyone recommend anything suitable please?

Yeah, there's a Quicksilver pump and adaptor - I bought one and haven't used it yet. I'll check the details tomorrow for you.

The Yamaha pump is a better unit if you can find one. I've got both and I don't use the QS one anymore unless filling a Mercury as the Yam one didn't come with the thread adapters for US engines.

Any idea which size thread adapter it would need for the Tohatsu 9.8hp?

I got mine from Black Dog Marine, on next day delivery for my tohatsu 8hp .

Says Lube Pump Adapter on the box, part number: 91-883704Q03

It says "Adapts gear lube pumps with 3/8"-16 UNC threads to gear cases with 8x1.25 metric threads."

Thanks for the info, but that looks like just an adapter for the end. What else do you use with that?

The QS or Yam pump threads into a quart bottle. The hose stays the same and the adaptor pushes into the other end of the hose and screws into the lower unit.
