Will it be much difference in upgrading from 30 to 40hp?

Hi,
I've been thinking... is there a big difference in 10hp? I mean, upgrading from 30 to 40 hp will make much of a difference ?
The actual engine is a Mariner 30hp, the maximum recomended by Valiant is 40hp. It's a 33% increase in power, so the top speed must increase, but how much?

Cheers
Hugo

You'll feel the extra HP especially when out on the water with much load. If you want extra top speed you have to prop it right, otherwise it'll only accelerate faster. Expect 3 to 4 knots extra speed.

RIBase
The only advantage to having the extera 10 hp is if you carry divers or a heavy load. You may find that the boat becomes unstable at WOT and 40 hp.
